ABOUT THE CUSTOMER

Trusty Pay JL Group's digital-payments pioneer in Myanmar.

Trusty Pay launched in September 2016 as one of the first licensed payment institutions in Myanmar. The Bankware engagement began with cloud-native e-wallet and payment platform infrastructure on the BX Payment Suite, with Bankware serving as the core technology partner for over half of Trusty Pay's business. The platform was an early adopter of Myanmar's FAST Payment system.

THE CHALLENGE

Frontier-market payments with regulatory complexity and underbanked customers.

Trusty Pay had to deliver digital payments in a frontier-market context, limited banking infrastructure, an underbanked customer base, reliance on agent networks for cash-in and cash-out, combined with the regulatory complexity of operating an early-stage payment institution license under the Central Bank of Myanmar. Multi-currency support, agent-network onboarding, and FAST Payment integration all required deep operational customization.

THE BANKWARE ENGAGEMENT

BX Payment Suite for cloud-native e-wallet and merchant infrastructure.

Bankware deployed BX Payment Suite as the cloud-native e-wallet and payment platform infrastructure. The functional surface includes electronic wallet operations, multi-currency support including Myanmar Kyat and the major regional currencies, payment processing across QR Code, P2P, and bill payment modes, loyalty and merchant programs, and the agency-model support for remote-area expansion through the cash counter network.

THE RESULT

400K customers, 8K merchants, 70%+ CAGR, Myanmar's digital-payments anchor.

Trusty Pay reached 400,000-plus customers, 8,000-plus merchants, and a 1,000-plus cash counter network nationwide. The platform processes 12 million-plus transactions per year with 70 percent-plus compound annual growth rate sustained across the multi-year window. Coverage spans urban and rural regions across Myanmar through the agent-network model, the reference for cloud-native payment institutions in frontier markets.
