ABOUT THE CUSTOMER

OK Savings Bank the second-largest savings bank in Korea.

OK Savings Bank operates as the second-largest savings bank in Korea, with a portfolio focused on retail deposits, consumer loans, and the regulatory segments specific to the Korean savings-bank category. The bank's existing operations team continued to handle day-to-day support, with Bankware contributing L2 and L3 platform support and the implementation methodology lead.

THE CHALLENGE

Full core replacement of a legacy stack on a tight timeline.

OK Savings Bank required a full replacement of its installed legacy core, the kind of project that typically runs eighteen months or longer in the Korean Tier-2 segment. The institution had to maintain operational continuity throughout the cutover while compressing the implementation timeline significantly below the segment baseline. Component reuse and parameterized configuration through the Configuration Center were the gating factors.

THE BANKWARE ENGAGEMENT

BX Core Banking Platform on-premise, with the six-phase implementation methodology.

The Bankware solution was BX Core Banking Platform on-premise, with the standard six-phase implementation methodology and the parallel migration track for data migration from the legacy stack. Component reuse drove the timeline: the BX library's 1,500-plus base components covered the deposit, loan, and accounting surface that OK Savings required, with parameterized configuration through the Configuration Center handling institution-specific business logic, workflow, approval rules, accounting rules, calculation formulas, without code changes.

THE RESULT

Thirteen-month full core replacement, the segment reference for compressed timelines.

Full core replacement completed in thirteen months end-to-end, significantly compressed against the eighteen-plus-month segment baseline. The parallel-run cutover pattern held the legacy and new systems in production simultaneously through the defined cutover window before final retirement of the legacy stack. OK Savings Bank is the Bankware reference for Tier-2 Korean savings-bank modernization on a tight timeline.
